AI Editor
The AI Editor lets you change a single topic with AI and review every change before it is saved. Ask for a focused edit, such as "fix typos", "tighten the introduction", or "add a short summary at the top". The AI Editor proposes a new version of the topic, and you see exactly what would change before you apply it. Unlike the AI Assistant, it works on one topic only and never saves anything on its own.
Category: Authoring · Status: Beta · Plan: all plans · Requires: AI Assistant, which is installed with it
Before you start
The AI Editor uses the AI Assistant's settings. After installing it, make sure the AI Assistant is switched on in Organization Settings > AI Assistant. The AI Editor uses the AI provider chosen there.
The AI Editor works on rich text, Markdown, and Custom HTML topics. It isn't available for page, Google Doc, Design Canvas, or Whiteboard topics.
Edit a topic with AI
- Open the topic in the editor.
- Select the sparkle icon (AI Editor) in the topic header. The AI Editor panel opens on the right, showing the topic under Working on.
- Describe the change you want and press Enter.
- Review the proposal. It shows how many lines are added and removed, a short summary, and the changes highlighted in place. Select Expand to see the changes full screen.
- Select Apply to topic to keep the change, or Discard to throw it away.
Applying puts the new text in the editor and saves it as a draft, like any other edit. It doesn't publish the topic. Publish when you are ready, as usual.
If you switch to another topic or language before you decide, the proposal is dropped and nothing is applied. Open the topic again and repeat your request.
If you uninstall it
The sparkle icon disappears from the topic header. Proofread and Custom HTML depend on the AI Editor, so they are uninstalled too. Changes you already applied stay in your topics. Uninstalling the AI Assistant also uninstalls the AI Editor.
