Topic Templates
Topic Templates let you turn a standalone topic into a reusable starting point. When someone creates a new topic, they can start from the template instead of a blank page, with its structure, headings, and boilerplate already in place. For example, a "Release notes" template can hold the sections every release needs, so each new release note starts consistent.

Make a topic a template
- Create a standalone topic (one that isn't part of a document) with the content you want to reuse.
- Publish it. New topics copy the template's last published version, so unpublished changes aren't included.
- Open Organization Settings and select the Topic Templates tab.
- Find the topic in the list and turn on its switch.
To stop offering a template, turn its switch off. The topic itself is not changed.
Create a topic from a template
- On Home, select New and choose a topic type, for example Rich Text.
- In the dialog, under Start from, select a template, or Blank for an empty topic.
- Enter a title and create the topic.
The new topic is an ordinary topic with a copy of the template's content. Later changes to the template don't affect topics already created from it.
Limits
- Only templates of the same topic type are offered. For example, a rich text template doesn't appear when you create a Markdown topic.
- The template picker appears when you create a standalone topic from Home. Topics added inside a document are created without it.
- A template must be published in the language you are creating the topic in.
If you uninstall it
The Topic Templates tab and the Start from picker disappear. Topics keep their template setting, so your templates come back if you install the addon again.
