PDF Export
PDF Export publishes your documents as downloadable PDFs. When export is on, Sonat generates a PDF every time you publish, and readers get a Download PDF button in the viewer. The addon gives you the settings that turn export on or off, your PDF header and footer, and a history of past exports.

Turn on PDF export
- Install PDF Export from the Addons page.
- Open Organization Settings > Advanced.
- Under Document Export, select Enable Document Export (PDF).
- Optionally, fill in PDF Header and PDF Footer. You can use the variables
{pageNumber},{totalPages}, and{documentTitle}. - Publish a document. Its PDF is generated, and readers see Download PDF.
Change it for one document or topic
The organization setting is the default. You can override it:
- For a document: open Document Settings > PDF Export. Under Document Export, choose Use organization settings, Enable, or Disable. You can also give the document its own header and footer, which replace the organization's, and see its Export history.
- For a standalone topic (one that isn't part of a document): open the topic's Settings > Display & export, and choose an option under Topic Export.
Organization settings are managed by Owners and Admins.

If you uninstall it
You can uninstall PDF Export only after you turn export off everywhere: for your organization, for every document, and for every standalone topic. Until then, Sonat refuses the uninstall. This is because PDFs would otherwise keep being generated and offered to readers with no setting left to turn them off.
Uninstalling PDF Export also uninstalls Custom PDF Cover Page and Physical Tabs.
